“The Route to Madinah;

On the Dining Table” (2025)
An exploration of the rituals that unfold during the four-hour drive from Jeddah to Madinah, reimagined around the dining table.

This experience brings families together to share stories, recall traditions, and reflect on the history of the route. Food becomes a medium to explore the intimacy of time spent in a car, transforming the table into a space for memory, conversation, and connection.

Stories are shared and re-told, utilizing visuals, sounds, and scent. emotions are recorded on a piece of tablecloth, as well as an interactive booklet that mediates the experience.

Part of the project “4 Hours, 400 Kilometres, 4 Months.”
